ABOUT THIS COURSE

This highly anticipated annual teacher training is a full-time residential yoga course cum heritage tour in the study of Ayurveda, natural therapy, yogic nutrition and basic Sanskrit literature.

Taught primarily by Master Yogananth Andiappan, son of Guruji Asana Andiappan and Anahata Yoga, Hong Kong Founder & Director, this intensive 11-day programme offers a unique learning experience with one of India’s foremost family lineages in yoga.

This teacher training programme is structured to deepen your understanding of the yogic practice and philosophy.

Learn from Master Yogananth Andiappan in this highly regarded residential course cum heritage tour. Conducted only once a year, this is a rare opportunity to be part of a full-time study with the Andiappan family of yoga masters.

In addition to growing your knowledge of the practice, you will also learn Ayurvedic Treatment and basic Sanskrit on yoga.

Experience an intensive 2-day training session at a beach resort overlooking the world-famous Mamallapura Temple, a UNESCO-listed heritage site.

Be treated to the best anti-aging therapies of South India as part of the training: mud therapy, leaf therapy, Ayurvedic therapies and various detoxes.

Enjoy specially prepared, authentic home cooked vegetarian meals to complement your practice and improve satvik qualities.

Go on a two-day heritage tour around historic sites, including yoga’s places of origins and landmarks to gain a better appreciation of yoga’s influence on Indian culture.

What can I expect from this training?

This intensive, full-day training programme is designed to offer participants the best learning experience in their yogic journey.

With the right mindset and a receptive attitude, students will gain practical and theoretical knowledge about yoga, Ayurveda and Natural Therapy.

Students will learn the proper methods to teach beginners, how to prescribe challenging pose variations to advanced practitioners, and most importantly, how to improve on their own respective practice and lay strong foundations in their yogic journey.

All this will take place in one of the world’s most renowned yoga college and research centre to learn yoga.


What does the syllabus cover?

The syllabus covers warmups, asanas, steps and various approaches to do a pose, different modifications for beginners, and variations for advanced-level practitioners, injury prevention, teaching adjustment techniques, and contraindications of the poses.

We also cover usage of props and wall support, as well as partner support options.

What are your cancellation policies?

As spaces are limited, we suggest you consider your availability and commitment carefully before confirming your registration and placing a deposit.

If you cancel before 10th August, 2015, you will receive a deposit refund after a US$ 100 for administrative fee and bank charges.

Alternatively, you can choose to transfer your space to another interested participant (at an additional administrative cost of US$50) on or before 1 August.

There will be no refunds for cancellations made after August 15th, 2015.

How difficult is the training? What kind of preparation do I need to make?

This training is open to participants of all levels.

A good and committed mindset and open attitude to learning are very important. We also expect

students to have an open, curious mind during the heritage tour for a full immersion experience.


What sites will the heritage tour cover?

In Chennai (1- 8 September):

  • Mylapore Kapaleshwar Temple, Chennai
  • Ramakrishna Ashram , Chennai
  • Raja Yoga Meditation Centre , Chennai

An asana and pranayama practice will also be conducted during sun rise at the world-famous Marina Golden Beach.

Outside Chennai (9 – 11 September):

During this trip, we will arrange all accommodation and entry fees for all student participants in the programme.

The heritage tour is part of the training programme. All students must be present during the tour to receive a training certification.
